Colette the French Poodle

Frame from The Graphics Fairy

I named her Colette.  She's a 1950s white porcelain French poodle with spaghetti detail that I purchased for $6 from the Stratford Antique Mall this weekend.  Isn't she the cutest!  She was produced by Lefton Company and originally made with gold chains extending from her collar to her two baby poodles - click here to see her in the original condition.  But I love her just the way she is; oh so French and chic!  She makes the perfect decoration on a vanity or atop stacked books on a shelf.  I recently discovered that my girl Laura from Gracefully Searching owns Colette's twin, Gigi! Check her out here.  Lucky for you, I found more porcelain poodles for sale on Etsy, here and here.  Get 'em while they're hot!

Brigitte

Oh Brigitte! You in all your French bombshell glory! So simple, yet so sexy. This Bonjour Paris v-neck makes my day, and this classic tassel See by Chloé bag should be mine. I bet Brigitte would have worn a similar outfit in her heyday. Well, maybe she wouldn't have had "Paris" emblazoned on her shirt because you need only have glanced at her to know she was the quintessential Parisian starlet. My 'essence' however, is not quite so 'telltale'. I want to prance through Le Marais in pretty peeptoe flats and sport her black Bardot band and voluminous mane. And for the love of Paris - I must own this v-neck!

Paris by Hand

Wowza! I was flipping through the March issue of InStyle Magazine when I spotted this 18-carat gold and platinum ring by Philippe Tournaire.  The French jewelry designer created The Villa de Rêve Collection that features miniature replicas of our favorite architectural buildings and monuments from around the world. This ring takes my Paris obsession to a whole new level; my favorite feature is the unexpected placement of the Eiffel Tower tucked below the city.  I love the idea of shrinking the heart of Paris and holding it in the palm of your hand - or in this case - wrapping it around your finger!
