Windsor Smith
I'm not sure how I missed this memo but let it be known that Windsor Smith is one flippin' amazing designer. I stumbled upon a blog post featuring this L.A. mansion that was recently purchased by Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin; Windsor Smith designed the interior and I'm dumbfounded by how stunning it is. I a-d-o-r-e the rustic edges, modern muted colours and her application of texture and pattern. I need a moment. It's just too beautiful to be true.

Monica the Monarch
I recently visited the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls and I was amazed by the pretty butterflies. I had never seen butterflies like that before - each with its own spectacular array of colours and patterns. It occurred to me that they're a foolproof way of discerning which colours naturally compliment each other. So why not use them as decor inspiration? Sometimes, that's the hardest part isn't it? ...knowing which colours to combine to create the desired look and feel. Well, meet Monica the Monarch Butterfly. I snapped this photo of her (above) with my trusty iPhone. She's proof that orange, yellow, green, blue and white work very well together.
