Nordic Liv

bag: Longchamp, sweater: Doo.Ri, booties, earrings: House of Harlow, polish: Essie

I'm always inspired by Liv Tyler.  She's just too darn adorable.  This photo of Liv is stunning, both for its perfect array of blue toned colors and of course, for showcasing Liv's beauty.  Did I mention I'm obsessed with her?  And I'm loving Nordic Liv, you too?  Any excuse to blog about her...

Dream Team

Vogue Paris May 2010

Look at this cover.  Doesn't it make you wish you and your best girlfriends were together on the cover of Vogue for no reason but for being awesome?  The team at Vogue must have had fun with this photo shoot.  I imagine they felt the same way I did when Jem and the Holograms first hit the stage in 1985.  Two words:  Girl. Power.  If I could shoot my own magazine cover, my dream team would include Meryl, Rachel, Sarah, Brigitte and Liv.  The combination of talent, beauty and magnetism these women possess is truly intoxicating.  Who's on your dream team?

Gals & Garbs

There's The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City, but for me there is more importantly, Stealing Beauty and Love Story.  The fashion in these movies epitomized my romantic ideals and shaped my style aspirations.   I am so taken with Liv Tyler and Ali MacGraw and their cinematic 'je ne sais quoi' that my subconscious self has directed my style choices accordingly.  I don't mind following trends, but I will never veer too far from home base.  On the spectrum of style, this is exactly where I want to be.

Stealing Beauty

I adore this woman. I loved her in Empire Records and she stole my heart in Stealing Beauty. And I intend on stealing her style. Every morning before I dress I ask myself, "what would Liv wear"? Well, ok that's not true, but when I see her looking this lovely it's probably not a bad idea. I loved this ensemble so much I was inspired to put together a similar outfit. Those Stella McCartney geometric shades add just the right amount of drama to her feminine outfit and her studded black bag follows suit to balance out the look. Bravo Liv!
