Perfume on Paper

How lovely are these Chanel perfume bottle prints and illustrations! Each so well interpreted and designed. These babies have gone viral and you can bet the 'who's who' of fashionistas owns one. Which ones do you like best? Are you more the chic sophisticate or the ultimate pink lady? I've got my eye on the first two, top left. The good news is you can find each of these prints for sale right now (two of them are original watercolours!). And not that you could possibly need convincing, but the images below are examples of just how fab these prints will look in your home!

Falling into Plaid

Today the weather is brisk and fall is imminent, so naturally I'm gravitating toward warmer fabrics and heavier patterns.  And according to some of our favourite designers, plaids and checks are the perfect way to welcome fall.  But then again, plaid is a cold weather classic so "'tis the season" you could say.  I've said my goodbyes to summer and I'm ready to embrace the colder weather with all that plaid has to offer: a little drama and a touch of mystery.  It's time to get serious!

Fashion Kicks

Remember when running shoes were a major 'faux pas' when paired with your work outfit?  Is it still a 'don't do' or have we just learned to see our sneakers in a different way.  Is that even possible?  Can an N on your shoe be as acceptable as a C on your purse in a business casual environment? I think we ought to save our Asics and Reeboks for the gym and style our head-turning, colour-popping New Balance and Nike kicks with some of our sleek outfits.  These girls did - and they look perfectly put together.  Go on... you know you want to try it!

My New Fav Bag

Toting a fringe bag is so much fun.  Try it; it's as if your bag is dancing as you walk.  You might like the Karma 54 Suede Fringe Bag, or the fringe bag by JJ Winters or Cleobella.  Whichever you choose, a fringe bag is the perfect sidekick to your boho self.

Baseball Caps

Baseball hats to cap off a polished outfit.  I like this!  It's sexy cool and sometimes you just want the anonymity you get from hiding under a hat.  But I wouldn't count on flying under the radar with this look because it surprises people; it's a titillating contradiction.   I had a guy stop me to tell me he liked my hat and asked what team it was. Sporting this look may just be that conversation starter you were hoping for!

Mad Love for Margherita

Margherita at her wedding - Town & Country

This girl.  Can we all just stop for a moment to appreciate?  I am mad crushing on Margherita Missoni - heir to the Missoni fashion dynasty, for those of you who prefer rock living.  She seems to be so many things all at once - hippie, warrior princess, designer, model; a seemingly natural beauty who you'd love to hate but just can't.  I get the impression that she lives in her own beauty bubble as evident by her unique style - cool and collected, unfazed by everything else; popping patterns like it's nobody's business.  Yes, maybe this is a strong impression to have of a person I'll likely never meet, but girls will be girls and I prefer to harbor my obsessions.  I just started following her on Instagram (@mmmargherita)!  I can just picture my boyfriend reading this right now, shaking his head and wondering what the hell he's gonna do with me.  But I think he secretly digs my crazy.

Sweatshirts & Bling

I love this trend!  Pairing a blingy necklace with a cozy sweatshirt is such a fantastic contradiction.  Your dramatic jewels are no longer reserved for those 'once in a blue moon' black tie events.  Casual sweaters with bling have an antique vibe.  And those of us who love antiques, love it for their distinct patina - 90% polish/ 10% tarnish.  So if you're rocking this trend, you kinda look like a walking antique.  But in a GOOD way!  When balanced by the cute, fashion forward gal wearing it - BOOM!  You've officially tickled my fancy.  Fashion is so fun, isn't it?!
